We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Registered Nurse–Outpatient Renal to join the Mountainside Team!

What You’ll Do

The Registered Nurse—Outpatient Renal will be responsible for providing and monitoring dialysis therapy treatment as ordered by a physician or nurse practitioner, as well as educating patients about their disease, diet, medications and a host of other areas.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Provide quality care for ESRD patients requiring maintenance hemodialysis treatments in both acute and non-acute settings utilizing the nursing process


• Ability to cannulate AV Fistulas and AV Grafts and accessing dual lumen catheters upon initiation of treatment


• Monitor and interpret vital signs in conjunction with dialysis procedure and treat complications as needed


• Assessment of patients with development and implementation of plan of care according to the patient’s needs


• Preparation of dialysis equipment, initiate, monitor and terminate the hemodialysis procedure according to unit policy and procedure


• Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues


• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and other members of the health care team regarding patient’s status, rendered care and treatment plans


• Monitor medication administration to ensure the safety of the patient


• Teach patients and their family members about their disease


• Proper documentation on specific dialysis records


• Perform any and all other duties assigned

What You’ll Bring  

• Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred




• Current and valid Nursing License in the State of New Jersey is required




• BLS/CPR certification is required




• CNN certification preferred




• One (1) or more years of outpatient dialysis nursing experience is required

• Knowledge of Infection Control guidelines and specific aseptic techniques in a hemodialysis unit


• Knowledge of dialysis equipment with accurate interpretation and proper intervention of alarm conditions
