Position Summary:
Ensures effective
management of all supply chain activities within Perioperative Services. Identifies and implements process improvement and cost
savings opportunities related to product, service and process standardization
and utilization in the operative suites.
Responsibilities:
Oversees
effective management of all surgical supply chain activities including inventory management and
distribution, OR room and sterile core inventories, and case-cart assembly and
delivery.
Manages multi-shift
operating team including inventory and logistics supervisors and staff, as well
as Peri-Op supply liaisons.
Assists in development
and monitoring of annual operating budget.
Manages all operational
aspects of Peri-Op supply chain activities that impact operational and
financial performance metrics.
Serves as a liaison
between hospital/system administration, operating departments and clinical
staff to ensure cost effective utilization of products, services and processes.
Serves as representative
on DHMC and/or multi-departmental committees including SEAC (Supplies &
Equipment Acquisition Committee), as appropriate.
Works
as liaison between physicians, OR staff, purchasing, SCM, vendors and process
improvement teams to prioritize and coordinate product, service and process
related value analysis initiatives.
Provides
coordination and oversight of OR product trials including cost reductions
reviews and response to SEAC requests, ensuring appropriate advance planning,
communication, data collection, analysis and review.
Provides
coordination and oversight of various product reviews and analyses including
effectiveness of “reusable” versus “disposable” products including financial
and environmental impact.
Works
closely with leadership team
to conduct cost-benefit, cost-minimization and cost-efficiency analyses,
verifying accuracy and completeness of all assumptions underlying cost analyses
that may impact product, service and process related expenditures.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s
degree in Business Management, Nursing, Supply Chain or related professional
equivalent experience required.
Previous
clinical or supply chain experience within in Peri-Op preferred.
Two
(2) years supervisory experience required.
Previous
cost analysis and vendor relations experience preferred.
Excellent
verbal/written communication skills and organizational skills required.
Demonstrated
knowledge of “Lean” management concepts preferred.
