Business Analytics Lead Analyst (Collaborative Care Analytics & Market Support) - Evernorth at Cigna in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Summary

The Cigna Collaborative Care Analytics & Market Support team is hiring a new analyst to support analytics and reconciliations of value based contracts. This role is an essential support role in our fee for value programs as the analytics support the ongoing operational support and program evolution for our provider partners. We are seeking an analyst who has experience working in the value based care environment and working with healthcare claims data. The person in this role will help conduct financial analyses and create insightful reporting, which will help our provider partners highlight areas of opportunity for mutual success in these programs.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of healthcare claims data
  
  


• Support the reconciliation of value based contracts including reporting and payment processing while also working with cross-functional delivery teams to remove manual dependencies.
  
  


• Create, modify, and maintain databases and reporting tools; recommend improvements as appropriate
  
  


• Integrate data from multiple sources and support/perform complex data analysis to find root causes/opportunities
  
  


• Perform research and analysis of key drivers and changes of provider performance and communicate information to program leads and matrix leadership
  
  


• Assist with case level analysis and requests as needed
  
  


• Recommend improvements for process to optimize efficiency and results, using automation where appropriate
  
  


• Communicate the analytic and financial results in a clear, concise manner while tying the insights to the business needs
  
  


• Develop a thorough knowledge of systems, processes, and methodologies related to Cigna's value based programs and communicate relevant information to technical and non-technical audiences
  
  


• Conduct or participate in moderate or complex financial analyses and/or reporting
  
  


• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with matrix partners and team members
  
  


• Work within a fast-paced environment, while balancing deadlines and needs from multiple stakeholders
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of healthcare and/or financial analysis or related work experience
  
  


• Knowledge and familiarity with healthcare claims data; experience in value based care programs a plus
  
  


• Strong verbal and written communication skills
  
  


• Strong analytic problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to think critically and improve processes to optimize results
  
  


• Experience in analyzing large complex, multi-dimensional data sets with a variety of tools
  
  


• Ability to thrive and demonstrate constant applied learning in highly complex, interdisciplinary, and dynamic work environment
  
  


• Strategic thinker with both sound and broad business acumen
  
  


• Proven experience in managing multiple priorities and agility in adapting to change
  
  

Technical

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  
  


• Ability to create SQL/SAS queries to pull and manipulate detail level data from a variety of supporting data tables for analytic research and investigation
  
  


• Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
  
  


• Proven ability to apply quality checks to ensure data integrity
