The Office of Career Advancement (OCA) Communications and Events Coordinator is a critical member of a dynamic, mission-driven team in the Office of Career Advancement at Harvard Kennedy School. Working across OCA's career coaching and employer relations, the Communications and Events Coordinator will develop, execute, and project manage the strategic communication priorities, activities and initiatives for OCA.
As the team's lead communications coordinator, this role works closely with all members of OCA to develop effective print and digital products-from concept to completion. Importantly, the coordinator also contributes to the writing and editing of strategic messaging and content for OCA materials as well as for the OCA-related pages on the Harvard Kennedy School website. This includes writing and managing content about OCA programs, supporting materials for key events, and employer recruitment/employer media channels, and in email communications. ` The coordinator must have at least three years of relevant professional experience In an organization, agency or marketing/communications firm. Mission focused work, or work in higher education a plus.
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or in a related field in addition to 2+ years of professional experience in communications role.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Excellent writing and editing skills, and ability to build positive, effective relationships with a range of constituents. Understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) a must.
Experience with email service providers (MailChimp, etc.). Experience in Sharepoint, Drupal, InDesign, HTML, and Adobe Creative Suite a very strong plus, as is experience with Symplicity career management system.
