What you will do

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for a year round internship located in Milwaukee, WI. This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. This role will be part of our Smart Edge Platform team where you will assist in mobile and edge device platform design and development, participate in feasibility study and code development activities and product testing.

How you will do it

• Participate sprint planning and work break down discussion


• Participate sprint review, present and demonstrate sprint achievements


• Take on feasibility study tasks under guidance of senior developer


• Contribute to firmware and GUI code development activities


• Contribute to test code development for auto-testing


• Contribute to documentation, such as developer instructions, software design, etc.

What we look for

Required

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university


• Pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science


• Attending school in the greater Milwaukee area and available to work at least 20 hours/week during the semester & full-time during holiday and summer breaks


• Good knowledge to the Linux operating system and programming on Linux


• Good coding skills in language like C, C++ and Python


• Good debugging skills with GDB debugger


• Good knowledge to the CMake based build system


• Good experience on using git and github


• Highly organized, self-motivated and must be a fast learner


• Must be a good communicator, work in an agile environment and embrace change

Preferred

• Experience on using Azure pipeline to achieve CI/CD


• Experience on using Eclipse or Visual Studio code for native code development


• Experience on using Google Flutter to make cross-platform mobile application


• Knowledge of cloud computing and RESTful API


• Ideal candidate is currently a Freshman or Sophomore
