The Global Data Protection Compliance Specialist is a key member of the Global Data Protection Office - Products Team



Job Description

Note: while we have a preference for someone in the Chicago area we will consider a U.S. based remote employee as well

As a key member of the Global Data Protection Product Compliance Team, the Global Product Compliance Specialist will collaborate with personnel across Motorola Solutions business lines and in particular product and engineering groups, legal, cyber security, and support organizations to ensure that Motorola Solutions products and services comply with applicable standards, laws and regulations for the purpose of (i) building trust in Motorola Solutions products and services and (ii) documenting and demonstrating that compliance to customers, regulators and other stakeholders. The role requires working successfully in a complex, multi-product/service ecosystems, at multiple levels, with a wide variety of constituents requiring a strong compliance and business background.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support coordinating data privacy impact assessments and develop corresponding risk mitigation plans; manage periodic updates to same; generate related report


  • Master and manage data protection program management tool, OneTrust and integration with other tools as needed within MSI, such as LogicGate. Establish governance for use of tools


  • In coordination with multiple departments, implement and manage automated privacy and security controls crosswalk.


  • Develop and implement consolidated product/service compliance dashboard within applicable tool displaying product compliance or lack thereof to control sets based on security and privacy assessments.


  • Serve as point of contact for data inventories and data flow mapping


  • Assist in the continuous improvement of MSI privacy and data protection posture by designing and developing processes to mitigate data privacy risks


  • Stay current on the impact of established and emerging laws, regulations and standards on MSI's customers, products, services, and technology infrastructure.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree with preferred focus in IT, computer science or technology


  • Hold at least one data protection and/or privacy certification such as CIPP, CIPT, or CISM


  • Minimum 3 years experience in privacy compliance


  • Legal background a plus


  • Experience of working in a large, global organization preferred


  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines


  • Detail-oriented approach needed to recommend and implement strategic improvements on a range of data privacy and data protection issues.


  • Knowledge and exposure to the following standards, laws or policies, NIST 800-53 r5, ISO 27001 et seq., ISO 27701, SOC2, CJIS, GDPA, CCPA


  • General understanding of cloud industry technologies IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms


  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and drive initiative at multiple levels.


  • Proven ability to quickly gain trust, negotiate business objectives, have constructive debate, and work directly with a broad group of personnel




Basic Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree required with a preferred focus in IT, computer science or technology


  • Hold at least one data protection and/or privacy certification such as CIPP, CIPT, or CISM


  • Minimum 3 years experience in privacy compliance


  • Experience working with OneTrust privacy management platform
