Job Description:

ABOUT THE JOB
Under ongoing supervision performs welding, scarfing, cutting, grinding and moving of pipe, fills out pick-up reports.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Welding and scarfing

·         Cut pipe to length

·         Grind all welds and end finish

·         Complete pick-up reports

·         Move pipe with overhead crane

·         General housekeeping as needed

·         Other duties as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

·         Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.

·         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

·         Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

·         Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 

·         Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
