Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting CooperVision in the execution of our global data management strategy. Lead for the administration and maintenance of enterprise item master data (from components to finished goods), and the execution of data governance policies and procedures. Responsible to lead training activities for new item team members coming into group. This role leads and guides item master data team in set-ups and maintaining the master data in the ERP systems and other supporting systems of material masters, advanced planning systems, future master data management systems, etc.

Responsible for working with cross functional teams to execute our Global Data Management strategy. Lead SME with our legacy system as well as strategic systems. Responsible for working with key business stakeholders through the Product Launch and Global Discontinuation/Rationalization Process, Service Desk Tickets, miscellaneous projects and requests to interpret business needs and issues and translate them into actions.  Develop test scenarios and participate in testing, implementation activities including documenting processes, and ensure the integrity of the item master data. Responsible for driving best practices with item master data. Works collaboratively with all business functions to ensure global item attributes requirements and ensure compliance with established standards.


 
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:


  • SME for item master data on project teams

  • Lead for corporate product launch process in reference to item master data execution and expertise.

  • Lead in assisting to define the business processes that ensure the consistency, uniformity, and accuracy of global item data.

  • Lead for updates to and communication with cross functional team involved in item master data in ERP, planning and Master Data Management (MDM) systems in accordance to corporate product launches, discontinuations and movements.

  • Supports data conversion activities relative to master item data as applicable.

  • Lead team in identifying and reconciling data input discrepancies, based on daily/weekly reporting provided, or any other method that identifies discrepancies.

  • Adheres to data governance policies and procedures.

  • Lead in continuous improvement efforts to streamline master data processes and entries.

  • Considers business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

  • Actively support & participate in projects commissioned to create, update or enhance item master data, including acquisitions, conversions and new system implementations/updates.

  • Plan and lead testing, implementation, training, support and documentation activities for local projects including development of effective test scenarios, scripts and use cases with consideration to cross functional and process stream impact from user standpoint.

  • Carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet quality, organization standards and end user requirements.

  • Perform various data quality checks, including investigation and remediation steps.

  • Communicate and resolve cross-functional process issues while actively driving process improvements for maintaining quality item master data.

  • Configuring IMDM, Oracle and related systems to satisfy business requirements, including but not limited to maintenance of master data, creating reports, preparing ad-hoc analysis of data and understanding system infrastructure and master data models

  • SME for legacy ERP system managing all item related projects and/or changes/updates to item/product master data as required.

  • Organize and update relevant data across multiple platforms (IMDM, Baan, Oracle, etc.).

  • Control UPC and EAN barcodes as needed, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent knowledge of the business enterprise functions and processes.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel is essential (specifically working with macros, formulas and text/character)

Experience:


  • Previous experience with at least one ERP system (Baan, SAP, etc.)

  • Previous experience with advanced planning systems and master data management systems a plus.

 
Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field or 5+ years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
