** Please note that the shift for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00AM to 4:00PM**

If you’re passionate about aviation and enjoy problem solving, we’d like to meet you! The candidate for this position will provide pilot-oriented product support on all Garmin aviation products, to include technical and sales support and other customer service related actions related to the product line.  You will also develop extensive expertise on the operation of all Garmin aviation products within the various airspace systems around the world.


We are looking for a full-time Aviation Product Support Specialist at our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you’ll be responsible for receiving and answering customer inquiries and requests regarding products, orders, pricing, and other services offered. You will also work with customers to determine which products, accessories, and plan for action best serves their individual needs. Other essential functions include:

 


  • Remain current on changes in policies, procedures, and product offerings

  • Report any and all out-of-line conditions affecting customer satisfaction

  • Develop and maintain department and company image and philosophy to the public

  • Become highly knowledgeable in the specifications, capabilities and operation of Garmin products

  • Answer customer technical inquiries regarding Garmin products via telephone, letters, fax and electronic mail

  • Monitor, document and report failure trends in Garmin equipment

  • Identify and recommend improvements in Garmin products, documentation and procedures

  • Review special circumstances and authorize warranty service when deemed appropriate

  • Provide operational support for Garmin's aviation products, including detailed support of the full ranges of operation in the National Airspace System (VFR &IFR)

  • Provide guidance on regulatory topics concerning various equipment and aircraft operations under 14 CFR Parts 91, 91-K, 135 and 121

  • Provide aviation database update support for Garmin portable and panel mounted aviation products

  • Responsible for ensuring that all customer (OEM) information and Garmin business information is maintained in strict confidence consistent with the associate's contractual confidentiality obligations as well as the Proprietary Information/Confidentiality provisions set forth in Garmin's Associate Handbook

  • Other responsibilities may include acting as a liaison between customer and members of other departments within Garmin, accepting and completing projects and other miscellaneous Aviation Support duties as assigned, and representing Garmin at industry and professional meetings and conferences. 

Qualified candidates will possess a high school diploma or GED and a Private Pilot License with the minimum of 100 hours of total flight time. Other requirements include:

 


  • Must possess a minimum of 1-year customer service experience

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems

  • Must demonstrate the ability to grasp new concepts quickly

  • Must demonstrate proficiency and skill with data entry

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in operating and troubleshooting Windows operating systems

An aviation electronics background and avionics maintenance experience is highly preferred! Other desirable qualifications include being an instrument rated pilot, being a Certified Flight Instructor, proficiency in using and troubleshooting Macintosh operation systems, boom operator, flight engineer and 3rd crew member.
