Core Function:
Setup and/or operate a range of turn and grind equipment to produce inner and outer rings. ÂThis department is responsible for the machining of all finished ring surfaces that require discrete grind.

•Â ÂSafely, correctly and efficiently setup and operate equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and work instructions. Â
•Â ÂMaintain necessary records and ensure that documentation procedures are followed.Â
•Â ÂPrepare material for the machining process. ÂMove material and parts as needed. ÂCare is required to handle components to prevent damage.
•Â ÂDetect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to a leader.Â
•Â ÂMaintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.Â
•Â ÂFollow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
•Â ÂTrain personnel as required.
•Â ÂCreate and update setup-sheets and standard work procedures.
•Â ÂGauge knowledge should be sufficient to operate all gauges in area of responsibility.Â
•Â ÂShall be capable of performing inspections in accordance with issued work instructions. In order to meet the intent of this job description, the grind operative must obtain certification as required.
•Â ÂKeep leader informed of all machine, quality and quantity problems or audits as required.
•Â ÂConduct or assist in problem solving events and meetings.Â
•Â ÂPerform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment as required.
•Â ÂPerform and be involved in continuous improvement projects as required.
•Â ÂPerform other related duties as required or directed.
•Â ÂSkills learned to be determined by the group leader based upon need of the entire group and the need for flexibility.

General Qualifications & Experience:
•Â ÂHigh School Diploma/GED required.
•Â ÂBasic mathematical and mechanical skills.
•Â ÂBasic computer interface skills.
•Â ÂStrong attention to detail along with the ability to multi-task and coordinate work activities to be efficient and productive.
•Â ÂStrong ability to follow written and prescribed work instructions/procedures and tasks.
•Â ÂStrong ability to read and interpret specifications, acceptance criteria, and engineering drawings.
•Â ÂSituational/Spatial awareness along with strict adherence to PPE/safety protocols is required.

Physical Requirements:
•Â ÂUse of hands, legs, both near/far vision, and hearing test. Must be able to climb ladders and lift up to 30 pounds. Requires extensive periods of walking and standing.
