Position Summary:
The Contracting and Payer Relations Administrator reports to the Assistant Director, Managed Care Contracting. Responsible for negotiating Single Case Agreements with payors, including but not limited to negotiating reimbursement rate(s) and contract provisions on behalf of Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) hospitals, physician groups and ambulatory sugery centers. Responsible for training JHM clinical entities on the process of obtaining viable Single Case Agreements and ensures compliance with the administration of managed care Single Case Agreement policies and procedures. This individual serves as a resource for staff at all JHM Operationsl Units and Senior Management levels as well as front line staff regarding Single Case Agreements. Position requires negotiation skills, abilitty to analyze contract terms, understanding of hospital/physician services, contracts and ree schedules to the extent required to process Single Case Agreement requests.
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field is required; A Master's Degree in related field is preferred - Some work experience may be substituted for educational requirement
Work Experience:
A minimum of 7 years' experience in a health care environment or human services with a minimum of 3 of those years working on insurance issues with emphasis on clinical operations, contract management, financial counseling or training
