Job Description:

Responsible for analyzing credit information to determine risk involved in lending money to commercial real estate and residential investor owned borrowers. Provides competent credit analysis, performing research for management and monitoring and servicing commercial loans in portfolio.


This position is located at our Home Office Branch, 700 South Kansas Ave, Topeka KS.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Prepares credit presentations for loan requests that summarizes the results of the credit analysis, guarantor financials, market research, environmental risks, the strengths and weaknesses of the credit, and identify any policy exceptions. Performs annual review of commercial credits.

  • Spreads personal and business tax returns, prepares cash flow analysis, analyzes projected cash flows, prepares global cash flows, analyzes guarantor support, stress testing borrowers, assists in loan grading, monitoring of loan covenants.

  • Performs administrative support for commercial loan activities including review of draw documentation for accuracy, posting draw requests, reviews and posts monthly payments, and uploads originated or purchased loans to the Loan Servicing system. Communicates with Borrower or Lead Bank.

  • Analyzes, monitors and reports on the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Requirements



  • One to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience preferred.

  • A college degree is required with an emphasis in Business, Finance or Accounting.

  • Use of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Must possess the ability to prepare written reports and present formal presentations.

  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Physical Requirements


Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.


Working Conditions


Regular in-office attendance required.

Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
