Job Summary:
Responsible for Oracle database administration for multiple Oracle Databases across a wide set of key strategic CooperVision applications. Responsible for all aspects including but not limited to daily maintenance, capacity planning, backup and recovery, configuration, and product upgrades.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Evaluate Oracle database patching requests, communicating issues, constraints, and timelines for deployment
Manage and work Oracle Service Requests (SR’s), applying patches and upgrades to Oracle databases.
Support Oracle database optimization, including performance tuning, query optimization, and supportability.
Provide technical input and expertise regarding multiple Oracle databases
Write technical documentation of system changes in conformance with department standards
Support change management including maintenance across multiple environments
Write technical design documents for the Oracle DBA team
Provide programming / technical support on-site or by phone as required for all shifts
Interface as a technical contact with Oracle support as it relates to solving Oracle service requests (SR’s).
Maintain awareness of technological developments in computer hardware and software systems, focusing on Oracle RDMBS
Provide timely and concise summaries of project status, technical input, and technical recommendations to management
Maintain awareness of technological developments in computer hardware and software systems, focusing on Oracle Databases and associated technology
Work collaboratively with the Application development, environment, server/storage, and business analyst teams
Provide input to the development and application teams regarding latest DB technologies
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Technical Competency
Complete understanding of the Oracle RDBMS up through version 19c
Technically fluent in applying patches, upgrades, and custom objects, both from an application and database stack.
Technical knowledge and previous experience with Oracle e-Business Suite (12.x) a plus.
Ability to clone, backup, and restore Oracle databases, and provide input on methods to optimize that process.
Ability to review technical documentation created by other Oracle DBA team members and provide input to achieve an optimal performing system.
Understanding of Oracle WebLogic
Proficient in Linux, SQL, and PL/SQL.
Experience writing and tuning complex queries.
Technically fluent in the use of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
Technically fluent in the use of Oracle GoldenGate
Experience working on Oracle Databases that support high transaction ERP and WMS systems, such as JDA, preferred
Technical knowledge and previous experience with Oracle Agile a plus
Experience managing and working Oracle Service Requests (SR’s)

Experience:
5-8 years’ experience in managing the Oracle RDMBS from a DBA perspective

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
