Job Description:



This is a high-visibility position to serve as a primary contact for Meritor Aftermarket accounts. The incumbent interacts with all organizational levels including Marketing, Pricing, Purchasing, Materials Planning, Engineering and Sales on a global basis. Meritor Aftermarket Specialty Sales maintain close relationship with our Troy, MI based OEM account team as many specialty customers buying center for both OE production and Aftermarket products are one and the same. NOTE: THIS IS A HOME BASED POSITION THAT REQUIRES UP TO 80% TRAVEL.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary contact for Meritor Aftermarket to accounts to various departments including Management, Pricing, Marketing, Warranty, Engineering/Technical Publications, Sales, & Purchasing

• Provide consultant resources to the OEM & Service Partner or Distributor or Fleet marketing/sales organizations by developing marketing programs & sales promotions tailored to the unique strengths of each OEM & Service Partner or Distributor or Fleet

• Ensure timely execution of actions & communicate results to all applicable personnel internal & external to AFTERMARKET

• Develop strategies to increase sales - targeted not only at discretionary purchases, but new markets & opportunities that exist for Aftermarket channels of distribution

• Develop & implement annual marketing plans to provide OEM/Service Partner/Distributor/Fleet & internal focus on base building business opportunities

• Assist OEM & Service Partners or Distributors with their pricing strategy on Meritor products to ensure their market price is appropriate while maximizing profitability

• Develop & present sales performance reviews as part of quarterly key customer account reviews

• Follow Meritor Aftermarket sales process via. MHI trained methods to securing complex sales

• Maintain accurate customer contacts, opportunities, & sales pipeline via SFDC CRM system

• Develop & enter customer sales quotes as needed in CRM system for approval & customer response

• Determine relative strengths & weaknesses of our competitors & communicate to marketing & sales groups

• Communicate all relevant information on programs/promotions to field sales org.

• Represent CVANA in appropriate production discussions to minimize miscommunication & maximize coordination

• Spearhead efforts within OEM’s to gather sales data in a format that will measure the effectiveness of Meritor’s field sales org.

• Gather & analyze competitive information to assess our relative position for subsequent action determination

• Track on a monthly basis, Purchase Orders & inventory positions of the OEM & distributors for Meritor product stock; participate in SCM activities

• Represent Meritor & coordinate Meritor representation at OEM & service partner trade shows, events, & open houses

• Forecast sales of each key customer using historical demand & recent order add activity



• Bachelor degree; prefer marketing, business or engineering major with minimum of (6) years experience in sales, marketing, customer support, business or engineering. MBA a Plus. Prefer Meritor components and specialty products experience.

• Strong written and oral communication skills, including platform presentation, to present information and coordinate activities

• Demonstrated organizational abilities to successfully interact, develop, maintain and follow through on responsibilities

• Demonstrated strong product and technical knowledge.

• Must possess high level of proficiency in MS Office Applications. (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word)

• Ability to work independently from a home office as field sales staff member.

• Ability to travel (80%).

• Ability to build profitable long-term win/win relationships with key customer partners.

• The Aftermarket organization has the right to deem a person qualified for a position if that person has had one or more years’ experience in the position or similar position.
