Cherokee Federal is looking for a Business Development Manager for its businesses in the Engineering & Manufacturing sector. This exciting opportunity will leverage the candidate's leadership ability and experience in business development.

For 50 years, the Engineering and Manufacturing service line has provided on time, on budget aerospace and defense services for commercial and government clients. Our businesses provide systems sustainment and integration, manufacturing, engineering, program management and professional services to a diverse range of industries and government agencies. These businesses have successfully tackled numerous projects that required expertise in medium to complex integration in ground support, test, flight hardware and armament systems.

SUMMARY

This job is primarily responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities from the federal government and private sector for assigned business(es). Candidate will possess a Subject Matter Expert level of knowledge in the management of all aspects of federal facilities - operations and maintenance. That knowledge will be leveraged to develop and market solutions to federal customers for Base Operations Support, Facilities Operations Support, and Engineering Technical Services to include preventative and periodic maintenance, repairs, custodial service, painting, troubleshooting existing systems, servicing existing operations, emergency repair and services, HVAC service and repair, grounds maintenance, equipment maintenance, pest control and facility maintenance, to include limited construction activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:


  • Produce new contract opportunities and corresponding capture plans that ultimately lead to the successful generation of new and profitable business for the sector.
  • Use company sales contact system (e.g., Sales Force) and develop processes for system contacts, customer follow-up's, customer screening, etc.
  • Provide weekly reporting on progress of sales leads.
  • Become involved in local network organizations to identify business opportunities.
  • Develop and manage marketing/sales material that increases the company's brand.
  • Maintain good communication with the client, supervisor and peers within the organization to ensure feedback is communicated and appropriately acted on.
  • Serves as customer liaison, listening and understanding the customer issues and problems, providing a solution if possible, and following through on commitments.
  • Research, identify and execute the opportunities in appropriate market.
  • Develop and incorporate the expansion strategy and plan for company.
  • Manage company's resources and promote overall brand awareness.
  • Work with multi-function departments to establish goals between customers/clients.
  • Assist cross-functional groups with the start-up of new programs.
  • Work with manager to develop a sales plan, goals, strategies, budget, etc. and projections for daily, weekly and monthly sales contacts.
  • May perform other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No direct supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree and at least 10 years of experience with federal government contracting or an equivalent amount of education and experience.

The preferred candidate will have the following:

A strong working knowledge and experience in managing federally owned property and facilities.

Thorough understanding of the federal acquisition process. Experience in marketing SBA 8(a) and HUBZone businesses.

  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented with strong process and execution skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office suite.
  • Able to quickly learn and appropriate use of technical terms for services provided by the company.
