The employee who occupies this position is responsible for assuming all duties performed by a Finishing Cartonpack Tech and is responsible for any/all duties assigned irrespective of whether specifically included in this list. Must be able to perform all Assistant position duties.  Must be willing and able to progress to the Operator position.  Cartonpack Technician role is the introduction phase of the Operator role (levels 1 and 2 of the Operator1 pay scale).



  • The Cartonpack Tech must be able to use SAP to generate worker instructions and support documentation.

  • Must have the knowledge to be able to setup the finishing support equipment such as case sealers, labelers and the Cartonpack.

  • Responsible for being able to legibly document all run events and production issues.

  • Responsible for verifying that job number, item number and die revision match work instructions.

  • Responsible for continually inspecting all production products to make sure that all are being made at an acceptable quality level.

  • Responsible for confirming customer specifications are continually being met.

  • Cartonpack Tech is responsible for communicating with the Palletizers that pallets are generated correctly.

  • Performs other organizational duties as required.

  • Support and Develop (Lean) initiatives (5s, TPM, Daily Management).

  • Must be willing and able to progress into the Finishing Operator role.

  • Skills-Clerical, Detail Oriented, Mechanical and good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Abilities-Good attendance, guide teams/processes, ability to work alone, ability to work any shift.


Physical Requirements



  • Duties require standing (except breaks and lunch) with little lower body movement throughout working shift for 8 to 12 hours.

  • Visual acuity at short distances. Needed to detect variances in job numbers, register and collator marks.

  • Color vision needed to detect inappropriate color of product.

  • Lifting and loading up to 20 lb. bundles of corrugate into case erector.

  • Able to lift 25-35 lb. boxes continuously and 50 lbs. occasionally to cover Palletizer position.

  • Occasional climbing, stooping, bending and overhead reaching.

  • Fine hand manipulation.

  • Grasping and gripping.

Required Experience



  • Minimum of 6 months in the Operator Assistant position (or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment).

  • Operator Assistant qualified to a 3 rating or better for all 4 Levels (or 1 year experience as machine operator in a manufacturing environment).
