About the Position

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of professionals in developing engineering plans and specifications for a variety of land development, water resource, transportation, and general civil engineering projects.


• Assist in the preparation of land entitlement permitting documents.


• Prepare Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Contract Documentation.


• Technical and design report writing.


• Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss engineering design/permitting issues with them.


• Assist with activities during Construction Administration phase of projects.


• Manage small projectsand assist managing medium size projects.

Skills and Attributes

• Have knowledge of and experience in all aspects of site civil engineering for residential and commercial site design including grading, drainage design, stormwater management design, utility design, site and roadway layout.


• Experience with projects in DC, MD, and VA required.


• Be well versed in the use of CAD software.


• Have experience preparing plans and reports.


• Self-motivated with attention to details and ability to think critically. Must be able to work independently and as a part of project teams.

Qualifications

• EIT required.


• 1 to 3 years of civil engineering experience.


• BS in Civil Engineering.


• Have experience/proficiency with one or more of the following programs: AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HydroCAD, Storm CAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.


• GIS, ArcGIS, and graphic software experience a plus.
