Responsibilities

    Visibly and substantially support the Messer Safety Culture through proactive engagement and by making safety a part of every decision.
  • Integrate safe and hygienic design concepts in all products and projects.
    Engineering Design

  • Develop and maintain knowledge and experience in recent 3D/2D CAD technologies and practices.

  • Maintain technical drawing and bill of material library

  • Design panels and systems on applications equipment that are easy to maintain and safe to operate from an ergonomic standpoint.

  • Assist in the design, specification, installation, and integration of a family of food freezing assemblies and equipment (sheet metal).

  • Under the direction of the engineering design team, produce technical drawings (3D models and 2d details) and bills of material for design packages for RFQ and fabrication purposes.

  • Participate in Design Review, Process Hazard Analysis and EMOC meetings as needed.

  • Support continuous improvement within the design group - e.g. development of standards, engineering tools, etc.

Required key skills (functional/technical)


  • Design with an emphasis to industrial gas food freezing (cryogenic) applications

  • Problem solving skills

  • The ability to manage multiple assignments

  • Good communications skills

  • Strong hands-on skills, ability to trouble shoot food freezing equipment/assemblies

  • Working knowledge of 3D/2D design tools including Solidworks, ACAD, and Inventor

  • Knowledge of simulation tools within Solidworks or equivalent 3D packages

  • Ability to do basic engineering calculations and use tools

  • A working knowledge of international codes/directives

  • Strong organizational skills

Required qualifications/experience


  • Bachelors or technical degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred)

  • Strong communications skills

  • Report or technical writing skills - experience writing test procedure or manual

  • Min. 2 years' experience in project engineering or design preferably related to industrial gas food freezing or chilling applications equipment and assemblies.

  • SolidWorks or equivalent 3D/2D experience (CSWP preferred)
