SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Supervisor will play an integral part related to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position will also be managing the client invoicing activities for the firm, focusing on administering Firm policies for Work in Process, and Accounts Receivable. The Accounting Supervisor supervises staff and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Accounting Supervisor will have contact with the Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and various leaders within in the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure

Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements
Supports budget and forecasting activities
Review and approve commission payments
Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives
Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Assist in the preparation of government related reports to include census report, sales and use tax returns, and property tax returns
Assist in annual reporting by solution for external survey and marketing participation
Work with Finance and IT team members in the development of a more efficient accounting system and to improve reporting capabilities
Active participation in creation of accounting procedure manual
Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
Acts as a liaison to Market and Solution leaders to analyze financial information and provide support for maintaining budgets
Responds to inquiries from the CFO, Controller, and other finance and firm Leadership regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each quarter and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
