Job Description:

What will you do?
Build lasting partnerships within the community and align Best Buy I&D strategy to community strategies in the I&D Community Director role. This important role spends time in research and identification of appropriate partnerships that will lead to long-term sustainable relationships within underserved / underrepresented communities. In addition they will partner with leaders across Best Buy to learn and understand the dynamics of different communities to meet unique needs. As well as the following important duties/projects/responsibilities:


  • Support and partner on all major fundraising initiatives including capital campaign planning and implementation

  • Work closely with the new Associate Director for Government Affairs and Social Impact to determined policy strategy and public initiatives where Best Buy should be involved

  • Partner and collaborate with Enterprise Talent Acquisition (Emerging Talent team) and Social Impact to support and strengthen the talent pipeline with Schools, HBCUs, youth and student organizations

  • BBY for Education and Health partnerships with a social aspect

  • Program Management of the Enterprise Task Force on Racial Equity (i.e. Social Justice and Racial Equity Education)

  • Partner with Social Impact to increase employee volunteerism engagement and Nonprofit and community board placement

  • Provide a strong voice and visibility to community inclusion initiatives

  • Cultivate local and national partnerships, in collaboration with Social Impact Team to ignite a network with community leaders and action – oriented organizations to share and fulfill the community and Best Buy’s mission

  • Plan and support diversity community events, especially those that impact underserved communities

  • Develop a plan to involve and incorporate feedback from community partners in the design and implementation of Best Buys vision and strategy

  • Build an enterprise strategy to support community perspectives / partnerships

  • Ensure effective planning, implementation and evaluation of program events and activities (i.e. KPIs / OKRs)

  • Partner with PR team to provide input on community outreach / communications (i.e. calendar of outreach / events, workshops, etc.)

  • Plan events (i.e. donor / volunteer appreciation events/Community outreach events/Community Volunteer Days/Adopt a School)

  • Become a member of Twin Cities Fund Committee


Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of People, Process or Project Management experience

  • 3 or more years community engagement – i.e. volunteer, outreach


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant community engagement including volunteerism, activism, partnership

  • 3 or more years of Inclusion and Diversity experience
