Internal Business Consultant - Strategic Initiatives - Express Scripts at Cigna in St. Louis, Missouri

Job Description:

Provides primary direction for strategic initiatives, typically leading a cross-functional program of strategic significance to the Evernorth organization. Program teams typically spans across multiple departments or several functional areas. Work may report through a functional leader and will requires extensive collaboration with one or more team within Evernorth or the broader Cigna organization. Executes and enables the strategy set by management and integrates policy and/or programs across several departments. Identifies significant improvement opportunities, innovation opportunities, and facilitates cross-business unit initiatives, including change management.

Responsibilities:

• Provide program leadership for cross-functional strategic initiatives: align charters/objectives, develop program plans, metrics and timelines, manage and/or monitor progress to execution


• Provide oversight for a team of program or project resources and/or external consultants


• Provide executive leadership updates


• Coordinate external consulting support as needed


• Establish operating mechanisms, governance, communication forums


• Align with key internal stakeholders on program work, typically in Finance, Technology, Strategy and within Enterprise teams

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of business experience, ideally in a combination of strategic planning, program management, operations, finance or technology roles.


• Excellent communication skills, including development of PowerPoint slides.


• Interest and ability in solving problems, bringing teams together to resolve challenges, driving process improvements, leading expense reduction or margin driving initiatives.
