JOB SUMMARY:

Oversee the activities of the Regional Logistics Directors charged with identifying customer logistical requirements and determining Medline's ability and process to meet those requirements in support of the Sales organization. Provide feedback and direction on prioritization and responsibilities of the regional logistics team.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate, monitor, and manage various customer relationships related to supply chain logistics support within a particular geographic region.


• Improve regional processes, policies, and practices so as to achieve company's goals and ensure regional stores adhere to company-wide laid down rules and guidelines


• Lead efficiency and improvement initiatives of logistics support services like communication channels and project prioritization and management.


• Determine customer logistical requirements through initial logistical due diligence.


• Prepare RFP responses and presentations.


• Provide logistical solutions by determining enhancements and alternatives for both internal and external distribution through onsite consultation and prepare business reviews and studies.


• Assist local branches setup, train and process initial orders.


• Ensure continuity of customer relationships and profitability.


• Establish and oversee realistic/obtainable short and long-range goals for each supported site, in conjunction with area sales management. Support Best Practices by communicating and sharing policies/procedures developed at the various sites.


• Implement strategic plans with the assigned customer(s) and area management in coordination with Area Sales Management.


• Management responsibilities include:




• Typically, manages through multiple Managers. Provides leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability.


• Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 months) for the function or department;


• Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs;


• Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops;


• Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies;


• Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

• Bachelor's degree.

• At least 8 years supply chain experience (ex. purchasing, distribution).


• Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).


• Experience managing remote work groups or individuals.

• Experience presenting to and communicating with various audiences (ex. others with differing language, senior management and non-technical audiences).


• Experience communicating technical information to non-technical audiences (ex. research findings to customers).


• Position requires travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

• Supply chain experience (ex. purchasing, distribution) in the healthcare industry.


• Logistics consulting experience.


• Sales / territory management experience.


• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).


• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
