Job Description:

Brandywine Realty Trust has an immediate need for an entry-level Accountant to work within our Parking Operations division at our corporate headquarters located in Philadelphia, PA.  Recent Accounting graduates will be considered for this role.

SUMMARY:  Directs financial and accounting activities of the Company’s parking operations by performing the following duties directly.  The position will have significant interaction with our accounting department and third party parking owners. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Daily


  • Reconcile and record activity from daily cash reports, credit card activity reports, and bank statements. 

  • Prepare and process funding and wiring requirements, including distributions, taxes, and intercompany settlements.

  • Process vendor payments through Avid electronic invoice platform

  • Communicate and interact with regional and facility personnel working in the field.

      Monthly


  • Monthly accounting and reporting for a portfolio of individual managed parking locations throughout the company.

  • Perform required month-end close activities for each location, including accurate preparation and recording of all journal entries.

  • Calculate and record parking management fees.

  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations. 

  • Reconcile all location Balance Sheets and related asset, liability and equity accounts.  Prepare analysis and lead sheets, when appropriate.

  • Compile and prepare comprehensive monthly financial report packages and submit timely to the field for review and approval.

  • Work with the Operations Manager to produce a monthly variance report.

      Other


  • Calculate, prepare, and file all applicable tax returns, including property, parking, and sales and use taxes.

  • Assist in annual budget preparation in coordination with Operations Manager.


  • B.S. degree in Accounting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, specifically in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience with Software from Parking Access and Revenue Control Systems preferred.

  • Experience with accounting software (such as MRI) preferred.

  • Individual should possess strong aptitude for basic accounting principles, good reasoning skills, high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a high volume, corporate environment.

  • Individual should have strong customer service skills, good communication, presentation and writing skills required.

  • Individual should be able to work unsupervised.
