Firmwide Data Management ('FDM') serves as the governing body to create firmwide standards that drive consistent data management practices, develop technologies and processes to support data management priorities, and partner with Lines Of Business ('LOBs') to embed data management best practices and capabilities. Within FDM, the Data Use team was established in response to the emerging risk of data use, and focuses on initiatives that enhance and protect the value of JPMC's data in the rapidly evolving \"Big Data\" economy.

Role Description

This position will report to the Head of Privacy and Use within Firmwide Data Management, and will support the process to ensure appropriate governance on the use of data internally and for data leaving the firm to 3rd parties inclusive of suppliers, clients and partners. This role involves substantial cross business interaction and a strong risk and control mind set.

The immediate focus for this candidate will be on the implementation of new strategic initiatives aligned to our maturing capability and in response to new Policy and Standard requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Own and lead the overall data use strategy for its next evolution in maturity; work with peers, stakeholders and LOB partners to define and execute the strategic vision of enabling data use whilst mitigating data risks and protecting data as an asset to the firm, and help to promote this culture within the businesses.

• Act as primary liaison to Corporate Technology partners to set the direction of the strategic technology architecture needed to support the program.

• Own the strategy for classifying use of data; work with partners across the organization to set goals and define approach. Own the taxonomy ensuring it is fit for purpose; drive adoption and implementation within LOB system and data architectures.

• Own the strategy for classifying data obligations contained within contracts covering clients, partners and third party vendors

• Build a strategy for monitoring adherence to parameters of permissible data use.

• Act as PMO for the function to ensure program deliverables are effectively managed and tracked; implement frameworks, formal disciplines and general best practices where relevant to instill a strong project management culture across the function. Create and manage project plans and tasks lists to coordinate cross-functional teams.

• Manage and oversee other BAU duties such as:

o Representing Firmwide Data Use at LOB Data Use Councils ('DUCs')

o Content creation for regular senior management program updates

o Provide awareness training and act as a central point of enquiry

o Interface with partners & stakeholders to provide relationship management

o Ensure accurate and timely Management Information ('MI')

• The role will require working on multiple projects & strategic initiatives simultaneously.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in or related to financial services and financial technology with demonstrated appreciation and aptitude for supporting complex projects within a business to business environment with sophisticated stakeholders.

• Knowledge and practical understanding of a broad set of products and processes.

• Must be controls-minded; experience with a Business or Tech Controls function a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with senior management and other stakeholders to support the goals of the business.

• Experience navigating and mobilizing resources across a large organization.

• Effective influencing and persuasion skills with groups not directly working for you; ability to build consensus.

• Exceptional verbal, written, presentation and communication skills.

• High tolerance for ambiguity matched with desire to create structure and drive results.

• Demonstrated interest in emerging technology and "Big Data" in the financial services industry.
