Take on an exciting and impactful role as the Principal Financial Analyst for two of our US Sales Leaders and their teams. Use insightful analytics, business acumen and collaboration to help define and execute the business strategy and deliver on Key Performance Indicators and targets by maximizing top and bottom line opportunities.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Core Role Activities

  • Drive growth
    o Be a trusted partner for the both the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) and the Cardiovascular Diagnostic (CDS) US Sales leadership teams - reporting directly to CAS Sales Finance Leader - as they work to grow market share and achieve key business and financial objectives (Targeted Revenue, EBIT, and Inventory)
    o Develop and maintain a strong level of business acumen as you support key operational and strategic activities - leveraging industry insights and by generating scenario analysis
    o Provide analytics on product launch execution and account targeting to achieve launch objectives
    o Support regional annual operating plan (AOP) process (Rosters, Alignments, Quota, Expense budgeting)


  • Cross Functional Collaboration
    o With Americas' Center of Expertise (COE) on rebates, contracting and Commercial Operations, and pan-MDT COEs for pricing and total rewards
    o Partner with Sales Operations and US Marketing teams to provide insight on region and district opportunity account pipelines, implant forecasts, strategy implementation (among other meaningful metrics) to drive additional opportunities to optimize results


  • Financial Management and Reporting
    o Support preparation of monthly business reviews of P&L results with variance analysis, as well as the updated Forecasts, highlighting risks & opportunities
    o Partner with Sales to continually improve Revenue forecasting accuracy in the US - identifying what key metrics best drive and support those predictions
    o Provide actionable guidance to sales management in alignment with financial goals, while also maintaining the longer-term strategic goals


  • Special projects
    o Prepare financial analysis to support critical special investment initiatives and other Ad-hoc as assigned

    Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 5+ years of experience)

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize, improve processes, and multi-task, in a high-paced environment
    • Strong business acumen; ability to learn/understand the business and influence key stakeholders at various management levels to drive and increase value to the organization
    • Positive attitude, with a high degree of initiative and accountability
    • Motivated to work independently with limited manager oversight
    • MBA/CPA
    • Medtronic business unit finance experience/business acumen
    • Prior Medical Sales support experience
    • Excellent written/oral communication, presentation and influencing skills
    • Experience with MDT financial/reporting systems (SAP, Hyperion, CMR, SPEND, BOXI) and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
