Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE:

Help train new hires and temporary employees through hands on and training programs/systems with emphasis on safety, equipment operation and operating systems. Assist Training Coordinator in developing and maintaining training plans and materials for team members.  Provide oversight and feedback of the training to ensure its effectiveness.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


  • Provide hands on training and programs/systems throughout site with emphasis on Safety, equipment/machinery operation and business operating systems.

  • Assist Training coordinator with Development and review of training guides for production and packaging equipment to include operation, operator maintenance, and trouble shooting.

  • Ensure initial and recurring training is being accomplished and documented throughout the plant.

  • Ensure training documentation is completed accurately, completely and in a timely manner.

  • Maintaining and oversight of training recordkeeping.

  • Develop, assist and provide coaching with mentoring process for new hires and temporary associates.

  • Provide feedback to Supervisors & trainees on training progress.

  • Recognize downward performance trends and act on that data to improve performance.

  • Provide training through Standard Work Instructions.

  • Knowledge and proficiency in Alphia business systems as required by position and machinery.

  • Operate forklift (Alphia Foods certification required) (will provide training if needed).

  • Apply personnel practices that adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices standards (GMP).

  • Responsible to follow established procedures to ensure that Alphia produces safe, quality food, meeting all governmental regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned or directed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 


  • Education level: High school diploma and/or GED required. 

  • Experience: Training experience preferred. Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.

  • Excellent skills working with Microsoft Office products, Outlook Mail, etc.

  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form

  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner

  • Ability to multi-task.

The employee must exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee may be frequently exposed to allergens and/or airborne particles in the production area.  Production employees are exposed to temperatures ranging from 50 to 115 degrees, depending on the season and workstation, and may be working near moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions may occur.

The noise level in the work environment may be loud while production equipment is running.

Personal Protection Equipment (including, but not limited to, boots, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, and/or face shields) is required during various processes in the production area. Ear plugs and bump caps are required at all times in the production area.
