Overall Job Summary:

* The Director of Distribution is responsible for the daily production and distribution functions within the BioTelemetry distribution center to meet the demands of our customers. With a strong emphasis in, return goods intake, medical device cleaning, testing, configuring, downloading, and order fulfillment.

* Direct daily/weekly staffing requirements in order to maintain service level agreements for order fulfillment and sales projections

* Communicate with Distribution team involving daily activities to maintain efficient operations

* Lead team meeting or "huddles" where appropriate to provide operation direction and departmental/company communications

* Identify and resolve problems by creating a formal improvement process as a result; raise to senior management where appropriate

* Develop and execute project improvement initiatives set by senior leadership

* Provide direction and delegate work assignments to all direct reports and supporting teams, while setting clear expectations/goals and holding direct reports accountable

* Ensure all established inventory levels are maintained to meet daily sales demand

* Provide consistent individual feedback to Distribution Technicians and Leads as a means of mentoring and developing their skill sets

* Ensuring compliance with all company policies

* Provide support to all internal and external customers

* Develop training plans for new hires and cross training of direct reports where appropriate and document accordingly

* Responsible for employee performance reviews

* Taking leadership role with emergencies that may occur such as systems outages

* Respond timely to voicemails or email to internal departments to provide exceptional customer service

* Perform all Distribution Technician functions based upon the needs of the operation

* Performs planning of new product lines as well as product upgrades

* Authority to purchase miscellaneous supplies as required

* Responsible for cost containment with respect to labor, shipping, inventory, supplies, etc

* May be responsible for budgetary requirements

* Insures availability of product through the monitoring and oversight of inventory systems. Utilize device tracking system and materials management system for the purpose of inventory control and system utilization measurement.

* Advises on trends and/or shifts in demand that could impact company's service levels.

* Maximizes the efficiencies of shipments. Resolves unacceptable situations with customers, as well as problems between shipping locations, carriers, receiving departments, inventory analysts, and buyers to insure planned arrival of product.

* Acts as logistics facilitator to ensure all elements of the distribution process are coordinated in such a way that customer requirements and time constraints are met.

* Ensure the housekeeping and cleanliness of the warehouse and related areas is maintained in an exceptional condition at all times. Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, good housekeeping practices, OSHA, and other governmental regulations.

* Maintain the security and safety of facility at all times

* Other duties as assigned

* Some travel is required

Education and Experience Requirements:

* Education: Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or operations or equivalent industry experience required.

* Relevant Work Experience:

o A minimum of 5 years of experience leading a large high volume distribution center with focus on pick pack and ship order fulfillment activities.

o At least 5 years directly supervising and leading exempt and hourly employees

o Medical device industry experience is preferred.

* Licenses/Certifications:

Gets customer information. Talks and acts with customers in mind. Commitment to build and maintain respectful productive relationships

* Other: Maintains technical awareness consistent with modern day computer applications (i.e. Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, or other programs as needed for the role). Use reporting/query tools as needed for role.
