Position Summary


Fillet Roll operators perform basic setups of fillet roll machines such as feeding systems on manual and auto feed platforms. Basic familiarity with fillet roll tooling. This role requires intermediate competencies in print reading and inspection processes, first & last piece inspection, as well as basic trouble shooting.




Primary Duties & Responsibilities



  • Primarily setup for others and runs as well.

  • Plan and perform close tolerance setups of any complexity which may be difficult to attain and hold to fillet and bead roll a wide variety of products, materials and machine.

  • Responsible for training instructing for others a majority of the time.

  • Setup and operate difficult jobs or when no setups for others are required.

  • Establish, select, set and adjust proper rolls for pressure and cycle to obtain desired results for specific material requirements.

  • Order necessary gages for each job.

  • Check and inspect first production pieces prior to turning setup over to operator.

  • Instruct operator as to operation, gaging methods, inspection frequency, difficult or problem areas and any unusual requirements.

  • Follow up as required to insure operator is producing acceptable parts and quantity. Expedite priority jobs as required.

  • Complete pan tags and production reporting forms.

  • Maintain machines and work area in a clean, safe and orderly manner.

  • Move pans, skids and C bins with hand truck as required.

  • Adhere to established safety regulations within the department assigned.

  • Perform TPM procedures.

  • Adhere to established safety regulations within the department assigned.

  • Perform other duties as necessary or appropriate to the position.






Experience & Education



  • Demonstrate advanced communication skill such as training other employees, posting, preparing, interpreting, using and checking reports, records and comparable data.

  • Basic shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables.

  • Have the ability to use a variety of adjustable measuring instruments requiring interpretation (e.g. dial indicators, hardness tester, height gages, intra-micrometers, level MAHR gages, micrometers, pitch gages, pressure gages, slab gages, Sunnen gages, vernier gages and calipers.)

  • Repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity.

  • Use judgement to plan or perform work within limitations of standard methods and procedures.
