Overview

CAES is seeking a Business Development Manager who will have responsibility for the management and coordination of market area business capture for the company.

Responsibilities include the identification of new business opportunities, market research, development of capture strategies and facilitating personnel from other function areas in the preparation of large and/or complex quotes and proposals to customers. Ability to establish new relationships, obtain insights from customer contacts, understand customer requirements and targets various pursuits where existing company solutions can be applied. Work with Engineering teams to ensure that technology roadmaps are in line with emerging customer needs and requirements. Coordinate activities to obtain market area intelligence and competitive data for targeted pursuits. Generate orders, forecasts and execute overall market strategy for assigned market area. Support and present capture strategies, pursuits and opportunity funnel to executive staff.

Responsibilities

    Identify new business opportunities and participate in the lead qualification process to determine which new opportunities should move on to capture
  • Participate in the overall capture process to include teaming and win strategies and the bid/no-bid decision process

  • Lead proposal development activities ensuring proposal submissions are compliant and responsive

  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in customer visits

  • Analyze existing and anticipated customer requirements

  • Promote consideration of company solution and offerings to fill customer requirements through early engagements and shaping of the RFP.

  • Participate in the preparation of sales account plans and campaigns, business plans, product task forces, and product development plans

  • Remain well informed of CAES portfolio to sell highly integrated solutions across divisions

  • Provide marketing intelligence to management and participate in the development of orders and sales forecasts and business strategies

  • Participate in OTA consortiums, support solicitation responses and develop strategic partnerships to increase Pwin

Qualifications

Minimum:


  • 10 years experience in the development of programs for Radio Frequency (RF) electronic systems, preferably in the areas of Missile, Munitions, Electronics Warfare and 5G markets

  • 5 years experience in project leadership, business development, or program management directly related to military and defense programs

  • Applicant selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • Travel is expected to be 20-40% on a yearly basis

Preferred:


  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Established relationships with major primes ideally related to Missile, Munitions, Electronic Warfare and 5G markets


  • Proven experience in leading program capture teams


  • Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential

  • Ability to work and lead across divisions and functional groups

  • Ability to clearly articulate and present to executive staff

  • Fluent in MS Office tools

  • Working knowledge of Sales Force is a plus
