Job Description

Verisk is seeking an Assistant Manager, Revenue & Billing to lead oversight in the month end billing and revenue close process (system process and analytical reviews) ensuring close deadlines are met. The successful candidate will have knowledge of general revenue recognition guidance combined with excellent client service, team work and diplomacy skills.

About the role:


  • Review and approve billing/credits for proper revenue recognition as well as journal entries for proper accruals/deferrals.

  • Report preliminary revenue to the Executive Team (CFO, Controller, Assistant Controller) and perform analytical review procedures with the Finance operating units documenting changes in account balances for accuracy and final revenue reporting.

  • Review and Maintain documentation for all audit and compliance work completed.

  • Review customer contracts for compliance with revenue recognition guidelines and determine appropriate treatment.

  • Assist with process improvements within the PeopleSoft system and operational department functions as well as billing integrations for new acquisitions or integrations of existing operating units.

  • Deliver high standard of departmental and cross departmental services.

  • Ad hoc requests.

Qualifications

About you:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • CPA or in-process CPA preferred

  • Must be proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel (including pivot tables / v-lookup's)

  • PeopleSoft experience preferred but not required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to articulate verbally and written, willingness to appropriately debate difficult issues; ability to think quickly and present to an audience

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities

  • Adaptable to work in a fast-paced environment
