Job Description:

IT M&A Operations Director

The Director of IT M&A Operations role is to supervise and maintain the day to day IT operations of assigned non-integrated businesses (NIBs) through standard methodologies and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. This individual will apply shown communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the user group on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of high-demand information systems.

The Director of IT M&A Operations will plan, coordinate, direct, and craft all operational activities of the assigned NIBs, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that improve most meaningful business operations. The Director of IT Integration will work closely with decision makers in other groups to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support efficient technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

• Ensure that IT infrastructure meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.


• Review and analyze existing infrastructure effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or demonstrating these systems.


• Nurture and disseminate knowledge of IT infrastructure and related systems standard methodologies.

Acquisition & Deployment

• Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new infrastructure programs and applications to support integration activities.


• Act on behalf of the NIB to ensure integration into company systems meets agreed functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.


• Supply to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas, and make the appropriate recommendations.


• Collaborate closely with company’s suppliers for timely rectification of any problems or emergencies.

Operational Management

• Lead and provide direction on the daily operations of assigned NIBs.


• Provide support for successful integration into core Cognizant standard systems and infrastructure.


• Liaise with network administrators and software engineers to assist with quality assurance programs.


• Compile and maintain inventory of NIB assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements.


• Develop and communicate training and documentation for end users, hold clinics as vital, and other user-related activities.


• Develop, distribute, and coordinate in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications include:

• B.S. or B.A. degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field


• Minimum of ten years of experience and proven track record in multiple technology environment, including 4-5 years of practical professional experience in cloud deployment and support


• Experience leading at least one full enterprise data center transition or upgrade


• Fundamental understanding of web-based/SaaS systems


• Proficient with MS Visio and Project or similar software and MS Office applications


• Proven experience in leading cross-functional, global project teams


• Ability to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines


• Ability to optimally lead staff


• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills


• Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills


• Work efficiently in a professional manner with technology staff, business partners, end users, management and others outside the organization


• Ability to work independently


• Self-motivated with ability to drive projects


• Experience estimating project costs
