Responsible for the scale-up/transfer of new/existing products introduced in Manufacturing Plant and ensure that processes are safe, high quality, cost-effective and of high efficiency
Responsible for optimization of existing poor performing products or processes where safety, quality, efficiency, and economic viability are below target (Hypercare)
Responsible for process improvement of the existing process and equipment: search and test new ideas leading to amelioration of the process
Execute projects in Pilot Plant (or Manufacturing) in the field of (non-limited to) reformulation, testing new ingredients, process improvement (includes documentation, reporting)
Support pilot plant activities for non-routine trials and working with operators
Write/Update manufacturing instructions for new and existing products
Write/Update Standard Operating Procedures (Pilot Plant or Manufacturing Plant)
Able to operate safely pilot plant equipment
Performs lab bench work or use analytical instruments to characterize products
Act as a technical expert with Manufacturing Team and Quality Control when product is out of specification and participate with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
Assist leadership with continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency
Work closely with Manufacturing Team with implementation of new/improved processes or best practices
Requirements:
B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering with an aptitude and interest in chemistry/formulation, or Food Science, Material Science, Chemistry with an aptitude and interest for process.
Minimum of 3 years' of experience in Production- or Pilot Plant-environment with demonstrated results towards process or product performance improvement
Experience in the Flavor, Food Ingredients, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industry
Experience with at least one of the following technical area is strongly desired: emulsions, extrusion, microencapsulation, or hard candy technology
Strong technical and problem-solving skills
Strong data-driven skills for analysis and decision-making
Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
Working flexible hours to support the Manufacturing Plant
