Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the scale-up/transfer of new/existing products introduced in Manufacturing Plant and ensure that processes are safe, high quality, cost-effective and of high efficiency


• Responsible for optimization of existing poor performing products or processes where safety, quality, efficiency, and economic viability are below target (Hypercare)


• Responsible for process improvement of the existing process and equipment: search and test new ideas leading to amelioration of the process


• Execute projects in Pilot Plant (or Manufacturing) in the field of (non-limited to) reformulation, testing new ingredients, process improvement (includes documentation, reporting)


• Support pilot plant activities for non-routine trials and working with operators


• Write/Update manufacturing instructions for new and existing products


• Write/Update Standard Operating Procedures (Pilot Plant or Manufacturing Plant)


• Able to operate safely pilot plant equipment


• Performs lab bench work or use analytical instruments to characterize products


• Act as a technical expert with Manufacturing Team and Quality Control when product is out of specification and participate with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions


• Assist leadership with continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency


• Work closely with Manufacturing Team with implementation of new/improved processes or best practices

Requirements:

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering with an aptitude and interest in chemistry/formulation, or Food Science, Material Science, Chemistry with an aptitude and interest for process.


• Minimum of 3 years' of experience in Production- or Pilot Plant-environment with demonstrated results towards process or product performance improvement


• Experience in the Flavor, Food Ingredients, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industry


• Experience with at least one of the following technical area is strongly desired: emulsions, extrusion, microencapsulation, or hard candy technology


• Strong technical and problem-solving skills


• Strong data-driven skills for analysis and decision-making


• Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills


• Working flexible hours to support the Manufacturing Plant
