GENERAL SUMMARY

The following list illustrates the common expectations for a cell leader for all departments within the Delavan manufacturing facility.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

• Plan/schedule work through cell for optimum customer service and profitability.


• Be able to work with manufacturing/design engineers on a regular basis for design/process improvements.


• Take direction from supervisor/manager as needed.


• Mentor new employees in cell.


• Have an understanding of equipment/processes used in cell.


• Be able to continuously improve cell to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.


• Be a go-to person to help troubleshoot problems within the cell.


• Operate where needed in cell.


• Make judgment calls on issues to maintain productivity.


• Maintain general communication to all three shifts as needed.

SKILLS

• Must be able to troubleshoot and use appropriate resources to solve problems.


• Maintain patience and positive attitude.


• Must be able to multi-task.


• Ability to communicate well with others and work in a team setting.


• Strong organization and delegation skills.


• Must be well versed in measuring equipment used within cells.


• Must have strong computer skills and be able to use the manufacturing segment of the SAP system.


• Ability to set up, adjust, and operate machine tools within the cell, to produce various parts within specifications from blueprints.


• Must be able to read and understand basic manufacturing mechanical blueprints, and have good basic math skills in addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A high school diploma or equivalent. Experience varies based on skillset of individual. Position will be appointed by supervisor or manager.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. This job often requires loading and unloading extremely heavy parts with aid of lifting devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee consistently works near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment can be above moderate at times.

Specific PPE is required within the cell.
