Under the direction of the Payroll Supervisor, the Sr. Payroll Analyst is responsible for the centralized payroll administration, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time.  The Sr. Payroll Analyst will act as a backup for the Payroll Supervisor, be a resource to employees and perform related duties as required.

 

The primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Partner with payroll analysts and administrators in processing bi-weekly and monthly multi-state payrolls, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal/state wage and hour laws.

  • Review, audit and balancing of timecards and payroll related inputs.

  • Create processes and controls needed to operate effectively while managing risk.

  • Manage the regular preparation of relevant management reports including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)

  • Work closely with other HR team members to ensure all payroll related activities are managed correctly, including HR, Benefit and Payroll changes.

  • To ensure data integrity and identify trends, assist with any internal and external audits and examinations.

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure payroll system transactions are working without error.

  • Manage the preparation of special reports for management.

  • Analyze, recommend and implement solutions to various Payroll processes and system-related processes aimed at improving efficiency of effectiveness of Human Resources.

  • Assist with year-end close procedures including the reconciliation of W-2s/W3 and year-end tax filings

  • Work with employees and vendors to resolve payroll and tax related issues, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Partner with all applicable areas of HR in the alignment/implementation of payroll processes as needed.

  • Knowledge of payroll administration, including federal/state regulations required.




  • Multi-state payroll and tax experience required.




  • Workday payroll system experience required including Time and Labor, ADP experience preferred.




  • Knowledge of accounting processes related to payroll including month end close and reconciliations.




  • Excellent computer skills required including proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.




  • Ability to analyze and interpret payroll data.




  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.




  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and strong analytical skills required.




  • Five years of in-house payroll experience required. 




  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
