Reporting to the Senior Principal, Pharmacy Care Reimagined Program Manager on the Pharmacy Services team, the Consultant, Pharmacy Services Innovation & Strategy helps research, co-design, and execute potential innovations in partnership with key leaders across the department and organization all in service of our mission. An ideal candidate will have a passion for change, curiosity to design new solutions and desire to prove success through measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities involve supporting the strategic execution of projects within the Pharmacy Care Reimagined portfolio and managing the successful execution of initiatives through effective program management
Strategic Execution: You will partner with the Pharmacy Care Reimagined workstream leads to enable execution at all stages of the innovation life cycle
Research & ideation: Putuser at the center and develop compelling value propositions based on primary and secondary research
Design: Support solution design by uncovering nascent pain points, identifying consumer and technology trends, and translating ideation into tangible, actionable output
Test, pilot and implement: Enable success through effective program management by tracking, reporting, and communicating progress, risks, and issues resolution to the customer and management as required
Program Management: You will be a central figure in the coordination of the Pharmacy Care Reimagined initiative by supporting:
Stakeholder management: Lead cross-functional meetings and collaborate with internal and external business partners to ensure strategic alignment and find new ways to develop scalable and sustainable product/service strategies
Strategic planning support: Provide strategic advice and support to leadership on matters relating to goals, project and initiatives, and roadmaps
Communications: Provide updates as needed to various internal audiences
Project management: Identify, monitor, track, and most importantly, takes the initiative to mitigate risks
Successful candidates are player-coaches. You can lead from in front or from behind, depending on the situation
Have experience with design thinking. You know how to start with the user, collect data and translate into insights, and incorporate into your solutions
Have a knack for facilitation. You can lead a diverse set of stakeholders from ambiguity to answer and alignment
Are storytellers with superior content-development capabilities. You convey complex concepts in a manner that others can understand at all levels of an organization
Are relationship builders. You have a proven ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and navigate complex, matrixed organizations
Are champions for change. You have experience leading organizations through strategic changes and getting positive results with a proven track record of successfully driving business improvements
Knowledge, Experience and Education
Working knowledge of Blue Shield of California's mission, vision and strategy
Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5-7 years of experience in the related area. Master's degree or clinical licenses preferred.
Management consulting and/or healthcare industry experience preferred
Demonstrated project management skills
Demonstrated "systems thinking" ability for innovation and creative development
Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings and driving to decisions
Demonstrated experience with applying design thinking and agile methodologies
Ability to influence senior management, key stakeholders, decision makers, and peers
Ideal candidates will have had exposure to the prescription drug value chain through prior work experience
