Director of Development - DC

College Success Foundation of Washington DC is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Development to provide fundraising strategy for College Success Foundation District of Columbia (CSF-DC). The Director will provide results-driven leadership, strategic direction, management and coordination for all fundraising efforts. The Director will develop a culture of philanthropy across the organization and raise funds and awareness among key stakeholders. In partnership with the CSF National Marketing and Strategic Communications Department, this position will contribute to brand development and public relations initiatives for CSF-DC.

College Success Foundation (CSF) provides a unique integrated system of supports and scholarships to inspire underserved, low-income students to finish their high school education, graduate from college, and succeed in life. We serve young people from low-income families, students of color, foster youth, and first-generation college students. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A REGIONAL DIRECTOR

As the Director of Development, you will collaborate with the CSF-DC Executive Director, Director of Programs and CSF National executive team.

Each year, will work with a small development team to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plant ensuring the fundraising goals and strategies align with the overall budget and program needs of CSF. You'll collaborate with Senior Leadership, the Regional Board, and the President/CEO to establish and achieve annual and long-term programmatic and development goals and strategies. You also coordinate with the executive team of CSF and the national External Relations team to develop resources and expand our operational capacity.

In conjunction with our national office, you develop and implement fundraising strategies in order to increase CSF's-DC support from individuals, foundations, corporations, state and federal agencies, and other sources. You'll help develop proposals for grants and contracts, manage proposal efforts, and monitor required grant reporting. Your excellent interpersonal skills assist you in developing and maintaining key relationships with donors and prospects. The hard work you do in fundraising and obtaining grants is essential in allowing us to support students in school and offer excellent scholarships.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in donor solicitation and fundraising preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Management experience in higher education administration, college admissions, financial aid or scholarship administration, or youth development

WORK SCHEDULE

The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000-130,000/year plus generous benefits.
