Fellowship Overview:

Hearst Autos employs some of the best automotive journalists working. This fellowship aims to create the best of the next generation of automotive journalists. Fellows will work closely with the editorial teams at our titles and learn everything they can over the course of a year.

Length: Twelve months

What you’ll do

Enthusiast I: Modern Storycraft at Road & Track (Semester A)

You will start off as spotters and eventually write for the fast-paced roadandtrack.com news machine. You’ll scour the internet for stories, mine press releases and vehicle announcements for interesting details, and learn from the masters how to turn a pile of information into an engaging piece of digital journalism. The eventual goal of this stage is for the fellow to find, angle, write, and produce successful stories.

Enthusiast II: Subject Matter Expertise at Bring a Trailer (Semester B)

You will work with the BaT team to vet cars submitted to the site’s auction program. While checking the cars out, You’ll help surface new Buyer’s Guide candidates and share the online resources they are using to evaluate entrants.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree

  • You have a driver’s license

  • You have an intense interest in cars
