Job Description:

Supporting a virtualized infrastructure and provide daily technical support and working with the Operations team and architects in developing and implementing systems and services. This position is a critical contributor to meeting the mission: To deliver innovative, Cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to adapt to dynamic environments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering support for the blade and server Virtual Environment deployment.


• Support, design, testing, review, system maintenance, vendor/contractor liaison and other activities as required for the effort.


• Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environment and Windows Servers.


• Responsible for high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers.


• Coordinate, direct and perform complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.


• Troubleshoot interoperability and performance issues.


• Maintain virtualized architecture using vCenter.


• Provide Tier 3 support and administer multiple environments (e.g., production, testing) on multiple enclaves.


• Coordination/integration with specialists from storage, network, server, and DB systems.


• Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.


• Diagnose problems on ESXi hosts and Windows Servers, troubleshoot technology issues, using various resources and document lessons learned.


• Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management.


• Automate processes where appropriate and apply datastore best practices.


• Health- performance-optimization monitoring of virtualized architecture.

Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field


• 5-7 years Server Operations experience


• Available to work between contract hours of 0700-1700 Monday through Friday.


• DoD8570 IAT II certifications as required and current


• Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one


• 5-7 years Networking, Microsoft, UNIX, and/or LINUX Server experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

• VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) vSphere 6


• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows Server 2016


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field


• Cisco Network Experience


• Cisco UCS experience


• Experience of delivering services in a production environment following ITIL is a plus


• Exhibit strong organizational, analytical, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills


• Windows technologies and design (Domain Controllers, IIS, and Clustering)


• Cyber Security knowledge and experience hardening hypervisors and guest OSes


• Experience using and configuring vSphere APIs (e.g., VADP, VASA, VAAI)
