Supporting a virtualized infrastructure and provide daily technical support and working with the Operations team and architects in developing and implementing systems and services. This position is a critical contributor to meeting the mission: To deliver innovative, Cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to adapt to dynamic environments.
Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support for the blade and server Virtual Environment deployment.
Support, design, testing, review, system maintenance, vendor/contractor liaison and other activities as required for the effort.
Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environment and Windows Servers.
Responsible for high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers.
Coordinate, direct and perform complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
Troubleshoot interoperability and performance issues.
Maintain virtualized architecture using vCenter.
Provide Tier 3 support and administer multiple environments (e.g., production, testing) on multiple enclaves.
Coordination/integration with specialists from storage, network, server, and DB systems.
Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Diagnose problems on ESXi hosts and Windows Servers, troubleshoot technology issues, using various resources and document lessons learned.
Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management.
Automate processes where appropriate and apply datastore best practices.
Health- performance-optimization monitoring of virtualized architecture.
Requirements:
Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field
5-7 years Server Operations experience
Available to work between contract hours of 0700-1700 Monday through Friday.
DoD8570 IAT II certifications as required and current
Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
5-7 years Networking, Microsoft, UNIX, and/or LINUX Server experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) vSphere 6
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows Server 2016
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Cisco Network Experience
Cisco UCS experience
Experience of delivering services in a production environment following ITIL is a plus
Exhibit strong organizational, analytical, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Windows technologies and design (Domain Controllers, IIS, and Clustering)
Cyber Security knowledge and experience hardening hypervisors and guest OSes
Experience using and configuring vSphere APIs (e.g., VADP, VASA, VAAI)
