About the Role:

Manages and executes the overall Field Medical payer (commercial, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, PBMs, SPs, etc.) operating plans for assigned area. Contributes to developing tactical pans in alignment with overall strategy. Responsible for developing field ready value proposition and pre-marketing approval Information Exchange (PIE) materials in accordance with relevant guidance, including materials and program development.

Your Contributions (include, but not limited to):


  • Manages and supports the development of field medical tools and programs such as (but not limited to) tailored slide decks, Medicaid testimony, population health programs, and federal initiatives, for payer engagement


  • In partnership with MCL leadership, develops communication and resources for the MCL team to communicate potential new product(s) information to payers and prepare product launch(es) into the healthcare market


  • Works with Medical Communication and Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) for content development for field usable resources and training


  • Manages annual project and budget plan, provides input into budget development


  • Provides Managed Care Liaison (MCL) field team operations support, including interfacing with IT and development of database(s)


  • Partners with Medical Affairs training to incorporate payer and HEOR modules for new hires managed care staff (MCLs) and provide advanced training to all FMA (MSL/CPLs) teams on payer materials


  • Develops and executes Plan of Action (POA) materials with guidance from direct manager


  • Coordinates with MCL leadership and HEOR to develop payer value story based on clinical, pharmacoeconomic and RWE data


  • Supports Medical, Legal, Regulatory compliance review of new and/or updated materials


  • Develops and leads projects in alignment with company goals and objectives with direction/supervision


  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:


  • PharmD or PhD in relevant area and 3+ years of pharmaceutical/healthcare experience, including any payer/managed care expertise preferred OR


  • PharmD or PhD in relevant area and 3+ years of payer experience as clinical lead (pharmacist) or HEOR/data analytics lead. Good understanding of managed markets and payer expertise. OR


  • Ph.D. or PharmD, plus M.S. (PER/HEOR) preferred and 1+ years of similar experience noted above


  • Psychiatry/Neurology therapeutic area preferred


  • Must be an effective team member and collaborator as success relies heavily on interfaces with Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Medical, HEOR and Brand Teams at senior levels


  • Strong understanding of managed care organizations/U.S. healthcare market


  • Firm understanding of FDAMA 114 and compliance, legal and regulatory guidance


  • Good knowledge of methods/theories of adult education and training


  • Has knowledge of best practices in the functional discipline and familiarity with the broader underlying concepts of related business disciplines


  • Works to improve tools and processes within functional area


  • Developing reputation inside the company as it relates to area of expertise


  • Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams


  • Exhibits leadership skill and ability, typically leads lower levels and/or indirect teams


  • Excellent computer skills


  • Excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills
