Global Operations Enablement team is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.  The candidate for this role would ideally have a passion for technology with experience or knowledge in a tech/media/telecommunications company.   

The Global Operations Enablement Senior Business Analyst will engage directly with business stakeholders across all regions to gather, assess, identify impact to business, recommend process improvements and drive technology and solutions related to product delivery and creating effective tools at Equinix IBXs.  

The position works closely with the IT organization in the development and implementation of technology solutions by reviewing the business requirements and by participating/coordinating UAT. Additionally, the position manages the change management by documenting and training business users in the adoption of evolving technology enabled business processes.

Responsibilities

Project Management


  • Create and coordinate project plans and resources, executing them using appropriate tools and techniques


  • Effectively coordinate project resources ensuring they are in the right place at the right time


  • Works with stakeholders to gain alignment through implementation and post-implementation stages


  • Drive pilot programs and proof of concepts


  • Communicates team progress


  • Create scope, project charter and stakeholder analysis


  • Identify project risks, provide visibility & help mitigate risk factors


  • Analyze pre and post implementation changes, including expected benefits and actual results


Business Requirements, Functional Design and Process Design


  • Drive system and process changes across all IBXs (data centers) worldwide to achieve consistent business system solutions


  • Perform impact analysis of the current business process, understand best practices, identify gaps, define future state business process, plan road map to achieve future state & execute road map


  • Provide operational recommendations for improvement based on research including new tools, processes & technologies


  • Facilitate IT & Business negotiations on solution design & prioritization to be consistent with the defined road map


  • Drives best practices during requirements gathering and modeling


  • Work with UX designers, BSAs and DEV teams to review wireframes, prototypes and functional designs to ensure solutions meet requirements


Testing, Documentation & Training


  • Develop test scenarios based on process improvements, agreed upon requirements and functional designs


  • Define test strategy and execution for specific modules of an application including end to end flows


  • Conduct/Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) including clarifying defects, triage and coordination of resolution with IT teams


Stakeholder Management


  • Manages stakeholder expectations within and/or across functions


  • Identifies and proactively includes correct stakeholders and communications effectively


  • Escalates to resolve complex stakeholder issues


Cost/Benefit Analysis and Monitoring


  • Analyzes pre and post implementation results


  • Expected benefits and actual results


Implementation and Change Management


  • Updates Operations process and procedural documentation


  • Completes post deployment analysis, monitoring and control


  • Assesses post project benefits and success


Reporting and Metrics


  • Status reporting providing periodic project updates, highlighting risks, issues and concerns


  • Creates and publishes dashboards


  • Performs ad-hoc reporting


Qualifications


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent


  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Suite


  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)


  • Knowledge of internet technologies and systems


  • Ability to participate and drive changes in cross functional projects involving regional challenges as required by the business


  • Solid time management skills and ability to work independently managing multiple projects and priorities


  • Strong analytical skills to work with complex business problems and systems challenges


  • Ability to document and prototype business use cases and data flows


  • Ability to present effectively to executive leadership and clearly articulate business decisions


  • Eagerness to learn and take on challenges in a rapidly growing environment


  • Reliability, diligence and excellent organization skills with a strong attention to detail


  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems including Siebel, Power BI preferred


  • Understanding of Agile and Lean concepts, plus


Preferred


  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a related technical field, preferred


  • Knowledgeable with EIA/TIA – ISO/IEC standards

  • Data Center experience a plus

  • Must currently reside in the US

In accordance with Colorado State Law (https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb19-085)  the salary range for Colorado for this role is $80,000 - $108,000 year.
