Assist in the overall supervision and administration of project safety, accountability, accident and fire protection programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Essential Functions:

• Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."


• Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."


• Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with project management and supervisory personnel.


• Assist in supervision and administration of EH&S, first aid and rescue squad activities. Assume total responsibility for EH&S operation when assigned to shift work.


• Participate in developing and conducting staff and craft safety orientation and training programs.


• Conduct work area surveillance inspections, air-sampling tests for confined space entry, property damage and personal injury investigations.


• Document all accidents, EH&S violations, unsafe conditions and activities. Issue confined area entry and "hot work" permits as required.


• Accompany EH&S, health and insurance inspections on walk through tours as required.


• Review EH&S related journals, catalogues, etc. to keep abreast of changes or improvements in protective safety equipment, materials and gear.


• Assist in preparing written appeals for EH&S violation citations.


• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.


• Issues direction to all site EH&S Representatives.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• 4-year occupational safety and health degree plus minimum 3+ year's construction or industrial safety experience or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.


• Previous safety supervisory and/or management experience strongly preferred. Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal state, local and company EH&S regulations required.


• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential.


• Good interpersonal and communication skills also required.


• Experience with electrical construction/maintenance, preferably Transmission & Distribution.
  
  
  
  

Physical/Special Requirements:

Work may involve standing and walking for extended periods of time. May include lifting up to 10 lbs. in order to conduct safety training.
