Senior UI/UX Designer at Verisign in Reston, Virginia

Job Description:

Verisign enables the security, stability, and resiliency of key internet infrastructure and services, including providing root zone maintainer services, operating two of the 13 global internet root servers, and providing registration services and authoritative resolution for the .com and .net top-level domains, which support the majority of global e-commerce.

The Senior UI/UX Designer uses visual design principles to further business objectives and strengthen the brand identity of Verisign's external websites, campaign sites, end-user products and technical product environments. The Senior UI/UX Designer couples visual design principles with user experience best practices to create appealing designs, develop user-centric solutions and strategies to design problems, and manage a challenging queue of projects. This role specializes in user interface and user experience design for external-facing digital products and complex technical environments, dictates branding guidelines for the company and has advanced experience with responsive design. This position is responsible for mentoring contractors and lower level designers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Works independently and collaboratively with Producers, Developers, Optimization teams as well as Creative Services team to conceptualize and create responsive designs from wireframe to fully realized mockups and specifications. Ensures design quality assurance.
• Creates engaging user-centered experiences through a knowledge of UX best practices, usability learnings, and design thinking principles. Validates UX design concepts through iterative prototyping and partnership with our UX Research and Optimization team.
• Presents design solutions, as well as ideas and thought processes to internal clients and stakeholders; provides strategic recommendations while incorporating feedback as appropriate.
• Creates brand style guides and templates to create designs that adhere to and promote the brand identity. Implements established brand standards while coming up with creative executions.
• Provides design specifications to Web Developers for building web sites and pages and provide solutions to design/technical issues.

Education

4 Year / BFA or BA in Web Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design or related field of study required, or equivalent work experience

Relevant Experience

5 years of related experience in Web Design required

User Experience Design Required

Experience with design thinking principles preferred

Skills

Adobe Creative Suite, particularly XD, AfterEffects, Photoshop and Illustrator - Advanced

Motion Design skillset and an understanding of using micro-animations to improve user experiences -Intermediate
