As a VP of IT for Commercial & Marketing, you will serve as an executive leader to our global sales, sales operations, and marketing teams, partnering to identify and create a technology investment portfolio that enables our continued, double-digit growth. As a strategic partner to executive C-suite and other key stakeholders, you will work with our global leadership team to identify opportunities, define and prioritize projects delivering technology products that meet IDEXX go-to-market needs. You will serve as the "trusted advisor" in defining what is possible, how to create compelling customer and sales experiences through technology, and how to gain the most leverage from these investments and ensure long term success for IDEXX. You will drive the implementation of development best practices throughout the organization, while governing control and ensuring objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities include management and development of a global commercial & marketing technology Center of Excellence, risk management, resource allocation, project prioritization, and research and recommendation of new systems and software products and services against and within that group of programs, as well as working with peer leaders and the CIO to manage the intersections with other global IT programs.

A day in the life:

* In partnership with Commercial, Marketing and IT leadership, and the IT Project Management Office, develop strategies and priorities, and oversee the execution against the critical priorities by managing technical capacity against projects, and initiatives.

* Focus on strategic initiatives and planning activities for the business, in particular new systems and capabilities.

* Understand the customer experience, market challenges, including customer priorities and competitive issues.

* Partner with IT, marketing, and commercial leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and facilitate prioritization across the portfolio.

* Serve as a lead role in enabling the business to achieve its objectives through the effective use of technology.

* Manage, develop and engage a team of IT Business Analysts, and a Commercial/Marketing IT delivery team of > 65 internal resources plus contract/consultant resources as appropriate

* Manage strategic vendor relationships such as Salesforce.com

* Identify and provide technical options to satisfy business ideas.

Requirements:

* Typically, 15+ years of relevant IT experience, 8+ years of management experience.

* Strong business acumen, including an understanding of business/financial drivers of success, and provide value to the business.

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

* Strategic mindset with proven success to drive initiatives.

* Strong organizational skills, including operational execution excellence.

* Nimble, agile, lean thinking to drive change that enables efficiencies and drives growth.

* Strong influencing skills with the ability to establish and maintain credibility with senior leaders and other key decision-makers.

* Preferably successful experience leading a virtual team.

* The ideal candidates will have a background working in a progressive, cloud-based software environment.

* Working knowledge of Agile estimations and Product Ownership
