Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

GPS Manufacturer/Distributor

As a leading worldwide provider of navigation devices and wearable technology, our focus is on developing, designing and supporting superior products. Our advanced technology promotes performance, safety and ease of use in every market we serve. That makes us an engineering and technology company with a keen focus on recruiting talent in those fields. But the same vertical integration business model that keeps all design and manufacturing processes in-house also gives us the incentive to hire top performers from different backgrounds, including operations, finance and accounting, information technology, sales, marketing and communications.

Now seeking: Number crunchers. In finance and accounting, we crunch the numbers to collect and pay the bills. Some of us plan for the future; others account for the here and now. We’re looking for associates who like to report, calculate, analyze and push our (calculator) buttons to find out how to improve our finances and increase profits. If you get a kick out of creating elaborate spreadsheets, mathematical equations and can type on a 10-key faster than a computer, then let’s swap numbers.

We are looking for a full-time Internal Auditor to support the finance and accounting team at our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you’ll be responsible coordinating plans to document, execute and review internal controls of Garmin Ltd and its subsidiaries. Other essential functions include:

  • Work closely with local external financial auditors and tax advisors for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements for Garmin Ltd and its subsidiaries

  • Report the status of the internal controls processes including any findings that may arise during the year to the Garmin Director, Global Internal Audit

  • Assist with recommendations on processes that can be improved, opportunities for cost savings, and other strategic changes needed within the organization

  • Assist in reviewing all disclosures and certifications necessary for annual SEC filings

You may also coordinate the documentation for Garmin’s Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance activities for Garmin Ltd and its subsidiaries, complete walkthroughs and test procedures to determine overall compliance with SOX processes in the US and other foreign locations as needed, and provide assistance to external financial auditors on quarterly and annual responsibilities as needed. International travel is required to assist with foreign subsidiary testing (no more than 25%).

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university. Other requirements include:

  • Must possess a minimum of 1 year work experience in an Accounting or Finance field

  • Must demonstrate working knowledge of US GAAP reporting requirements

  • Must demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access

Candidates with prior Oracle ERP experience, Public Accounting work experience, CPA certification and/or experience in creating or implementing SOX compliance efforts are preferred.

Our benefits are designed to lead an evolving marketplace, support innovation and encourage a healthy balance between work and life. They allow our associates to make their own decisions about their well-being and future and consistently rank Garmin as a top tier benefits provider when compared to other high-tech employers. We offer a choice of high value medical, dental and vision plans with low or no premiums, to fit your and your family’s preferences. In addition, Garmin’s financial benefits include a generous 401K retirement plan that provides 5% of pay base contribution plus a match of 75 cents for every dollar you contribute to a maximum of 10% of your compensation. The employee stock purchase plan allows for shares to be bought at a 15% discount. Garmin offers many other benefits and perks ranging from well-being initiatives, educational assistance and career development, community charity support, and employee discounts just to name a few.
