Job Description:

Facilities Maintenance Technicians maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical, mechanical equipment and systems within the Tesla Gigafactory 1 facility. Facilities Maintenance Technicians utilize technical, interpersonal and critical thinking skills, while working as a team with the entire Facilities Operations and Maintenance departments, performing general maintenance duties, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance as needed and assigned.

Responsibilities:


  • Maintaining and troubleshooting various types of pumps, chillers and piping systems

  • Perform plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC and Inspect on building systems

  • Work on projects throughout the entire facility running conduit, pulling wire and connecting devices, using lifts and ladders

  • Continues to perform equipment repairs and similar duties that require no oversight or direction

  • Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems

  • Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics

  • Repairing and adjusting system components or removing and replacing defective parts

  • Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company

  • Provides excellent customer service

  • Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback

Requirements:


  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years related work experience as an Industrial or Manufacturing Technician

  • Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment

  • Previous manufacturing experience is preferred

  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings

  • Experienced in handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed

  • Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, drives, and electronic components

  • Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics

  • Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management

  • Must have a high degree of initiative, with the ability to work alone and effectively with other people and teams
