Job Description:

Lead AWS Data Engineer

Location and Travel: St. Louis, MO (Remote Available, Flexible After COVID)

Job Requirements:


  • Design and architect end to end solutions on AWS.  

  • Design, build and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. 

  •  Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability etc. 

  • Resolve non-functional requirements such as performance, security, maintainability, scalability, monitoring, fault tolerance and cost.   

  • Setup DevOps for AWS.  

  • Monitor all production issues and inquiries and provide efficient resolution. 

  • Perform performance tuning, application support, and user acceptance training.   

  • Document and communicate risk assessments pertaining to new functionality and enhancements.   

  • Collects data, analyzes and reports for early detection and correction, continual improvement.   

  • Engage with onsite-offshore team for daily activities Status reporting – weekly and monthly basis

Job Qualifications:


  • 6+ years of experience design and building scalable Data Warehousing/Data Lake Solution and Business Intelligence 

  • 5+ years of experience (Sr-level) Strong Programming experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages:  Python, Spark, Scala, Shell Scripting 

  • 5+ years of experience (Mid-level) Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Apache Spark, Kafka, etc 

  • Knowledge of business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices 

  • 2+ years of strong technical Experience with AWS cloud services such as S3, IAM, EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, SNS, Cloudwatch, Glue, DMS, SCT, Lambda 

  • Experience in DevOps engineering for CI\CD: with Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, and Kubernetes. 

  • 2+ Years of experience with relational SQL, Snowflake and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra. 

  • Experience on data migration from on prem to cloud. 

  • Knowledge of load balancing, security controls and distributed processing capabilities.  

  • Ability to troubleshooting issues as and when arisen.  

  • Technical/functional support for pipeline related activities. 

  • Involved in supporting data modelling activities as part of building the data warehouse. 

  • Deep understanding of relational database design concepts and SQL programming  

 

Nice to have: 


  • Experience of other any ETL Tool such as Talend, Informatica etc. and visualization tools like Power BI. 

  • Experience in Performance Tuning of ETL scripts to reduce the CPU time/load timing. 

  • Experience with Data modeling and Datawarehouse projects. 

  • Experience of working in Multivendor Cloud based application tailored environment. 

  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data. 

  • Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc. 

  • Experience working on Agile projects. 

  • At least 1 AWS Cloud Certification – Associate or Professional
