Product Leader (Senior Manager) - Dental PPO - Work from home at Cigna in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Join Cigna's Industry leading Dental team. This position is responsible for the strategy creation and product management actives related to the Dental PPO product for all size segments including Under and Over 500 group lives market segment, National Employer markets and Individual Markets, As the product manager this role will serve as the product line owner and help dental and Cigna strategically focus on the specific and unique needs of our various market segments, bringing PPO products and capabilities to market that drive continued profitable growth.

This Leader will play a key role on the dental Product team and will be accountable for developing a product strategy to execute on the vision of the enterprise, business and market leaders, including development of a multi-year product roadmap that meet stakeholder needs, and enable market segment earnings and growth strategies. To be successful in the role of, this individual must be able to operate and lead in a matrix organization. Creativity, leadership, and implementation of strategy will be critical abilities needed for this role.

Direct Responsibilities:


  • Assesses key market factors, including competitive landscape and consumer insights, to uncover unmet or changing customer needs and using these insights to deliver recommendations to Overall Product leader and key dental stakeholder for development of PPO products and capabilities to meet the market

  • Develop and manage the Cigna Dental PPO product line strategy and multi-year roadmap that meet stakeholder needs, and enables earnings and growth strategies

  • Ensures strategy complements or leverages other key initiatives for Dental and CIGNA in general.

  • Prioritizes product efforts to align with business strategic priorities, and priority of buying groups/ market segments

  • Owns the overall roadmap execution and is accountable that the product is built on time, according to scope and budget,


  • Develops and delivers business cases to support recommended Dental ppo product strategies.

  • Develops an approach to existing product line management using KPIs and industry benchmark to monitor performance

  • Establishes performance KPIs with clear systems of measures and accountabilities that drive results

  • Serves as the product expert for the organization, having a clear grasp of exactly what your product is, the experiences it delivers (for all stakeholders) and understanding of the value it creates and the differentiators.

  • Be Market Aware and capture, maintain and share the market trends with your team in order to drive the necessary adjustments or changes moving forward.

  • Manage small team to drive product development roadmap efforts to successful execution

  • Leads via influence multiple functions that enable the product throughout the product lifecycle

  • Partners to advise and influence the appropriate pricing, positioning and network strategies to support realization of product strategy

  • Ensure Sales partners are trained, supported, and able to deliver the Dental value proposition of each new product/enhancement and capability to maximize sales.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales Effectives to create material that educates, informs and drives sales

Performance Management & Talent Development


  • Develops and inspires direct reports by aligning the dental PPO team's objectives with the goals of the dental business and broader organization while maintaining an environment of trust

  • Actively provide developmental activities to staff. Promote culture of openness, trust, inclusion, and learning. Actively provides candid developmental feedback

  • Continuously strives to provide superior products and customer service

  • Sets high performance standards for employees and teams

  • Strategically aligns process and resources to future goals and objectives

Functional Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree required -MBA preferred

  • 10 plus years of experience in the Group Insurance Industry; Product Development and Management Expertise for at least 3 years

  • Dental product knowledge preferred

  • Customer facing and/or sales experience, finance/underwriting exposure and familiarity beneficial

  • Ability to foster collaboration, value others perspectives, and gain support and buy-in for organizational proposals

  • Strong critical thinking, analytic and problem solving abilities

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize job requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to work in Matrix Environment

  • Collaborative approach to achieving results

  • Strong Communication and Experience articulating vision to senior level leaders

  • Knowledge of Experience Lead Value Creation and SaFe Agile a plus

  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills

Reporting Relationship:

This position reports to the Dental & Vision Product leader who, in turn, reports to President of Dental & Vision

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
