VNF Support Principal Member of Technical Staff at AT&T in Middletown, New Jersey

Job Description:

The principal member of technical staff  position will support the delivery of virtualized network functions (VNFs) from project initiation through deployment. The job will focus on the end to end design, VNF build and delivery of the architecture solution. This includes mobility D2 VNF development on NC and ECOMP integration. The position includes developing a Test Object List (TOL) to support requirements for feature development in the software. It will track vendor, NC, and ECOMP software releases to insure that features requested are being delivered. Provides expertise on end to end solution to internal customers in terms of technical dependencies and steps for nationwide deployment.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Lead delivery of mobility core architecture lab releases from project initiation through FFA complete based on Plan of Record schedule.
• Coordinates the design and integration of an architecture solution, which includes development of Test Object List (TOL) to support requirements for feature development.
• Collaborate with internal marketing/business teams and external vendors to ensure all high-level business requirements are met. Obtain alignment between the architects and the product owners to certify the service.
• Responsible for tracking TOL defects and issues to resolution while setting prioritization to meet requested Plan of Record schedule. Includes management of vendor software releases to support initial feature development as well as defect resolution.
• Collaborate and plan with cross functional teams such as architects and platform owners to define work intake and efforts required to test.
• Creates and presents executive reports that outline specific technical defects and impacts to the end to end solution including its delivery to production and FFA completion. Provides expertise on end to end solution to internal customers in terms of technical dependencies and steps for nationwide deployment.

• Candidate shall have a PhD in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a  Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of  8 years of relevant experience
• Five or more years experience with networks, network protocols, and IP networks and at least seven years of experience with web development using PHP, Perl, Action script and Java programming through all phases of the software development lifecycle
• A strong understanding of security technology in the areas of VPN, firewalls, proxy, and IDS/IPS as well as experience in Linux, Solaris and Windows
• Candidate must have a strong communication skills both verbally and written as well as strong problem solving skills
• Ability to balance and prioritize work and work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience as a system tester and experience in a lab test environment

• CISSP, CCNA certification, or GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)
• Experience with any/all of following software tools: PHP, Perl, Action Script, Java, JavaScript,  Linux, XML, CVS/SVN, Linux Shell Scripts, and Oracle
• Check Point VSX experience
• Crossbeam, Fortinet and Cisco configuration experience
• TS/SCI Government Clearance
• Network and Hardware support experience as well as database design
• ISP Services Planning and Architecture
• ICDS Service Planning and Architecture
• ISP level data networks experience
• Hands-on experience with performance and security test gear
• Understanding of Internet security threats and mitigation techniques
