Primary Responsibility

The Assistant to the Dean of the College of Computing and Technology supports multiple aspects of college operations including administrative and project assistance to the Dean and designated faculty leadership positions. This position is responsible for multiple operational resources within the college such as calendars, schedules, communications, and administrative procurement. Public contact is a key component of the position, both internal and external to the organization, and requires contact with faculty, senior management, staff, students, parents, donors, board members, government officials and the public sphere.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities








Description of Tasks Performed

* Manage scheduling and provide calendar support for the Dean and designated faculty leadership

* Manage operational budget of the college by working closely with the business unit manager(s) on campus who interact with academic units

* Prepare agendas and detailed briefing materials for meetings

* Review documents requiring the Dean's signature

* Supervise student workers for the various programs in the college

* Maintenance of important files for the College of Computing and Technology

* Responsible for travel arrangements for the Dean and faculty leadership as needed

* Responsible for expense reports for the Dean and faculty as needed

* Other duties as assigned







Description of Tasks Performed

Conduit to the Registrar's Office for issues and concerns related to student enrollment, create or change courses as required, submit course schedules each semester

Conduit to IT: work with IT to resolve email, connectivity and communications issues for students







Description of Tasks Performed

Conduit to Provost's Office: provide revenue projections, manage adjunct hiring process and payments, providing documentation as needed







Description of Tasks Performed

Conduit to Business Office: collaborate with Business Office on finance-related issues that affect the budget, arrange and process journal entries and budget transfers as needed as well as communicate with student representatives should any issue regarding a student arise
