GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Technical Accounting Manager will be responsible for assisting with technical accounting projects, and maintenance of Dole's accounting policies and procedures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

• Perform accounting research and analysis of new transactions, business initiatives and new accounting pronouncements and document the appropriate accounting treatment


• Assist in the coordination of the annual audit and quarterly review activities performed by the external auditors


• Maintain, document, and improve the company's GAAP compliant accounting policies and procedures


• Review existing areas of critical accounting, to ensure alignment among all divisions


• Assist with ad hoc requests and special projects including acquisition due diligence activities and integration of newly-acquired businesses, including transitioning entities to GAAP

Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skill And Experience Requirements)

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience


• Experience at a Big 4 or large accounting firm, preferably on publicly traded clients


• US GAAP financial reporting experience preferred, IFRS experience is a plus


• Experience using HFM and web-based financial reporting applications preferred


• Solid background and understanding of accounting principles, including the preparation of financial statements and technical accounting experience.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications


• Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects in order to meet tight deadlines and produce high quality work is required


• Strong attention to detail and ability to work well both independently and in a team, environment is required


• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills


• Ability to travel internationally, as needed

• Senior Management, Corporate Reporting and Consolidation group


• All Divisions' Controllers, Finance Managers, and Financial Analysts

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

• BS in Accounting, Masters preferred


• CPA or Chartered Accountant


• Public accounting or financial reporting experience

WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT

• Ability to work overtime and weekends as position requires.


• Ability to travel up to 25% international and domestic, as required.
