The Technical Accounting Manager will be responsible for assisting with technical accounting projects, and maintenance of Dole's accounting policies and procedures.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION
Perform accounting research and analysis of new transactions, business initiatives and new accounting pronouncements and document the appropriate accounting treatment
Assist in the coordination of the annual audit and quarterly review activities performed by the external auditors
Maintain, document, and improve the company's GAAP compliant accounting policies and procedures
Review existing areas of critical accounting, to ensure alignment among all divisions
Assist with ad hoc requests and special projects including acquisition due diligence activities and integration of newly-acquired businesses, including transitioning entities to GAAP
Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skill And Experience Requirements)
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
Experience at a Big 4 or large accounting firm, preferably on publicly traded clients
US GAAP financial reporting experience preferred, IFRS experience is a plus
Experience using HFM and web-based financial reporting applications preferred
Solid background and understanding of accounting principles, including the preparation of financial statements and technical accounting experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects in order to meet tight deadlines and produce high quality work is required
Strong attention to detail and ability to work well both independently and in a team, environment is required
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel internationally, as needed

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
BS in Accounting, Masters preferred
CPA or Chartered Accountant
Public accounting or financial reporting experience
